This is a historic city gateway. It has been part of Gaur part of India on the border of India. The historic Gaur city was surrounded by a high wall. Kotwali Darwaza was its gateway. This high gateway is seen from Darshabari Mosque of Bangladesh-India boarder, though it is within the borders of India. This Darshabari mosque is located on the border of Bangladesh in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district. The part of Gaur in Bangladesh is the outside part of the city surrounded by the wall. And the area that is outside of Bangladesh is all in Bangladesh, at Chapainawabganj, the border district of Bangladesh.
